Project Description:
Morley executed the contemporary marriage of a historic architectural design to modern-day technology and functionality. Work included a full exterior renovation, as well as the build-out of two core-and-shell retail spaces at ground level. Hollywood Palladium’s dilapidated exterior required repairs and upgrades, which included a new roof, new paint and renovated lighting. Exterior board and panel-form concrete were sacked and patched; exposed rebar and spalled concrete were cleaned and repaired; the south elevation façade was renovated; and exterior neon lighting was brought back to life as if it were September 23, 1940. This project won Los Angeles Conservancy's 2008 Preservation Award.
