Project Description:
The Eli and Edyth Broad Center provides state-of-the-art research facilities in a 93,000 sf five-story, cast-in-place structure with one subterranean level designated for a future vivarium. The design features an elaborate curtain wall system with black granite along the west elevation while allowing USC to carry out stem cell research in three categories: basic and discovery stem cell research, preclinical research and clinical research. This project is anticipated to achieve a LEED Silver rating, and has several unique sustainability features including a cable-stayed curtain wall and chilled beam system that reduce the need for added HVAC equipment.
