Morley Builders is committed to doing its part to promote environmental and public health in the work environment. In 2009, Morley became a Certified Green Business through the City of Santa Monica’s Sustainable Works Program. The year prior, Morley was honored with the Sustainable Quality Award Grand Prize by the City of Santa Monica and its Chamber of Commerce for outstanding achievements in business greening.
Morley has implemented a paperless document imaging and workflow system for its accounting and payroll departments. The paperless system promotes a seamless transition between jobsites and office, reducing the overall travel time and paper between the two.
Other initiatives that have been implemented include the purchasing of kitchen and office products with a high percentage of recycled content (100% in most cases), and the replacement of 28 superintendent trucks, delivery trucks and a messenger vehicle with more fuel-efficient options, which ultimately saves 25% of fuel over the life of the vehicles.
