Morley provided general contracting and concrete subcontracting services for the Rancho Las Virgenes Solids Handling and Composting Facility. The project included eleven buildings on a 20-acre site. It was built to provide for the beneficial rescue of wastewater biosolids in response to needs for increased capacity and changes in EPA regulations. The facility digests, dewaters, and composts primary biosolids using a fully automated computer-controlled process. Commercially available wood shavings are added to biosolids for composting or alternative amendments such as green wastes are implemented. This facility is among the most highly automated of its type in the world.
