Olympic West Parking Structure at L.A. Live!

Olympic West Parking Structure at L.A. Live!

As one of the largest excavations at that time, the Olympic West Parking Structure provides 2,600+ parking spaces to the millions of patrons visiting L.A. Live, Crypto.com Arena, and the Los Angeles Convention Center complex each year. Morley Construction Company provided concrete subcontracting services for the project, which included the forming, placing, and finishing of 62,000 cubic yards of concrete over 1 million square feet.

Located on six acres, the massive structure consists of three subterranean levels and one partial above-grade level. The elevated, above-grade, cast-in-place southern portion can support multiple semi-trucks and satellite broadcast trucks parked simultaneously in support of major entertainment events. Large, heavily reinforced beams were incorporated into the northern portion of the ground level cast-in-place concrete deck to accommodate construction of the structural steel frame convention center and theaters located on top of the garage below. An extra-wide, high-capacity ramp and tunnel under an active public street allows for full-size semi-trucks to maneuver and deliver supplies to an underground “super-dock” for the adjacent hotels and L.A. Live entertainment complex.
