About Together California

Together California is reimagining the foster care experience by creating a nurturing, community-centered environment where children and families can thrive. The initiative is built on five core principles:

  1. Keeping siblings together – Children live with their brothers and sisters.
  2. Professional, full-time care – Each home is led by a trained, full-time foster parent.
  3. Family-style living – Children grow up in single-family homes, not institutions.
  4. Community support – A global network of care surrounds each child and family.
  5. Family reunification – Birth parents receive counseling and support to help reunite families whenever possible.

This visionary project is made possible through the dedication and support of the Austrian-American Council West, Tim McCormick, Christian Bale, Sibi Bale, Dr. Eric Esrailian, Chad Hummel, Anna Levin, and many others who share a commitment to transforming foster care. As Christian Bale described it to CBS news correspondent, Tracy Smith,

“I don’t think you have to have any connection to foster care in your past. It’s just about a basic understanding that as a society, how can we not take care of our children?”

About the Project & Morley’s Role

Located in Palmdale, California, the Together California Children’s Village project is a thoughtfully designed community that supports foster children, their families, and young adults transitioning out of the foster care system. The project features a new five-acre residential development with six detached duplex townhomes providing 12 units, offering safe, supportive housing for siblings in foster care and young adults beginning their independent journeys. The development includes two studio apartments that provide temporary housing for birth parents working toward reunification, as well as transitional housing for youth aging out of care. At the heart of the campus is a 7,000-square-foot Community Center, which will serve as the headquarters for Together California and offer a wide range of enriching programs and services to the broader community. Surrounding the center are gardens, recreational spaces, and sports areas that foster connection, wellness, and growth. Morley Builders is honored to serve as the general contractor for this transformative initiative and is also providing concrete subcontracting services. We are proud to contribute to a project that will positively impact lives for generations to come.
