Madame Tussauds Entertainment Experience

Madame Tussauds Entertainment Experience

The Madame Tussauds project comprises a new 42,120-square-foot, three-story structural steel building with 47,914 square feet of below-grade parking adjacent to the historic Grauman’s Chinese Theater on Hollywood Blvd. The structure includes unique curved shear walls constructed of black masonry, decorative zinc paneling installed in a shingle pattern, and slanted glazed curtain walls, as well as 4,665 cubic yards of structural and architectural concrete placed by Morley. The attraction features interactive “wax museum” exhibits, each with its own specific architectural, electrical, and audiovisual needs. The unique architecture, desire to create public space, and complex technical requirements of the project required Morley to remain creative and flexible, all the while providing strict cost and schedule controls. The project opened to acclaim and has become a fixture in the dynamic Hollywood landscape.
