UCLA Edie & Lew Wasserman Eye Institute

The UCLA Edie and Lew Wasserman Eye Institute is a six-level, 112,100 sf structural steel building with concrete shear walls on the Health Sciences campus of UCLA. The project included the construction of the building’s shell and some core elements; vehicular, parking and pedestrian circulation modifications; site utility relocations; and cosmetic alterations to the adjacent Doris Stein Eye Research Center and Jules Stein Eye Institute. It incorporates several unique attributes including architectural concrete and a chilled beam mechanical system that will reduce energy consumption.


This is an OSHPD 3 structure and has achieved LEED Gold – Core and Shell from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
