UCR Dundee-Glasgow

Morley provided general contracting services for the new student housing complex, which includes a state-of-the-art residence and dining hall on UC Riverside’s campus.

The Glasgow Residential Restaurant is a new two-story, 53,000 sf student dining facility constructed of structural steel frames. The project features a modern, residential dining program with multiple food stations, an exhibition bakery, a demonstration cooking platform, convenience store, patio terrace, two private dining rooms, and over $6M in food service equipment. It includes a 3,500 sf main commercial kitchen, 9 walk-in cooler/freezers, dishdrop and dishwashing areas, and administrative offices for restaurant/kitchen and catering operations. The building seats 830 people as well as provides service to UCR’s campus food trucks.

Dundee Residence Hall (North and South) consists of two 7-story, wood-frame over concrete podium buildings providing 396 dorm rooms across 175,000 sf. Amenities include a fitness center, three seminar rooms, a large multi-purpose space, student lounges, laundry rooms, a residential service office, and outdoor recreation areas. The housing is targeted primarily towards first year students, offering single, double, and triple occupancy rooms.

The project, which was built strategically in phases to accommodate the active campus and student life, was completed ahead of schedule in August 2020 and is targeting LEED Silver certification.
