UC Riverside has partnered with American Campus Communities on North District Phase I, a new 546,000-square-foot living-learning, mixed-use community on UCR’s campus. The project features 416 apartment-style housing units across two separate buildings, providing 1,500 beds for upper division undergraduate, transfer, and graduate students. Building A is a 5-story, Type III structure with a 4-story, Type V section totaling 325,000 square feet. Building B consists of a 4-story, Type V structure with a 4-story Type III over Type V section and a 5-story Type III section totaling 221,000 square feet. Amenities include two seminar rooms with 32 seats each, one 125-seat multipurpose room, student lounges, market, fitness facility, laundry, and two surface parking lots.
Phase I is anticipated to reach completion in Fall 2021 and is targeting LEED Gold certification.
