High Place East and West

High Place East and West

High Place West apartments was the first of two phases of this development for Community Corporation of Santa Monica. High Place West is a Type I 47-unit affordable housing complex with a playground, community center, and laundry facilities on the premises. Morley provided general contracting services and self-performed structural concrete installation for both phases of construction. Installation of sustainable design elements was a collaborative process with the design team for drawing updates and phasing of a solar photovoltaic system, a solar hot water system, LED lighting, and drought resistant landscaping.

High Place East, the second phase of this affordable housing project, added 44 more residences to those in need of quality affordable housing. One of the last projects to be funded by Santa Monica’s Redevelopment Agency, High Place East consists of all three-bedroom, two-bathroom units located in Santa Monica. The project emphasizes design that highlights community, light, and air while incorporating a large variety of green elements to minimize its environmental impact. High Place East celebrates the development team’s perseverance, creativity, and resiliency.
