The Carlton is a 51,000-square-foot affordable housing development located in South Los Angeles. The project consisted of construction of a new four-story Type III over Type I apartment building with 60 total units–30 studios, 15 one-bedrooms, 15 two-bedrooms, and one market-rate manager unit. The target population includes permanent supportive housing for transitional youth homeless individuals and low-income families. The building hosts Abode Communities’ Beyond Homes Resident Services program. Common areas include community room with kitchen, laundry room, property management office, resident services space, outdoor courtyard, and bike storage. An on-grade parking lot provides 20 stalls. The project is LEED Gold certified.
