Morley Construction Company is providing concrete subcontracting services for the new United Airlines Technical Operations Center at Los Angeles International Airport. The facility includes two connected structural steel buildings totaling 407,400 gross square feet; a ground service equipment and facilities maintenance building and an aircraft maintenance hangar. The ground service equipment building is approximately 50,000 square feet. The facility’s hangar is approximately 256,000 square feet and will be able to accommodate up to six narrow-body or two wide-body aircraft at a time.

 

Morley’s scope of works includes foundations, trench drains and utility pits, slabs on grade, and slabs on metal deck associated with the ground service equipment building and hangar, totaling 25,000 CY of concrete. Concrete installation is expected to reach completion in January 2021 and the project is targeting LEED Silver certification.
